Shouldn't I Be More Excited?
I got a raise today. And somewhat of a promotion. I don't think that's ever happened to me before. Well I got a raise here before, after my orientation period. That was a good thing. At my last job they kept screwing me over hardcore. I only got raises when the company was sold and when it was my one-year anniversary and they HAD to give me like 24 cents. It's not that I don't bust my ass, it's that I had poopy miserly bosses. Whom I let abuse me. While silently vowing to burn the place down.
Anyway, I should be excited. I am a little. But the jaded side of me that is sick of being poor and exhausted feels that this really is just going to be a lot more work for only a little bit more money. But I'm still excited. I'm going to be in charge of retail. That means I get to order all the crazy doggie outfits and toys and stuff. And be in charge of the displays and stuff. Ooh and I get to use that price gun thingie.
I'm also going to take over our monthly e-mail newsletter. Let me know if you want me to add you to the list.
And I'll be doing other projects as they come up. Like Christmas card mailings and an employees-and-their-pets board. At least it shouldn't get boring since my work will always be changing.
Model Escort!
I'm going to escort models down the runway at a fashion show on Monday! Of course, the models are dogs, including Mr. Pickles. :) I think I'll get my hair dyed red again Monday morning and get it styled all sassy. Hopefully we'll be on the news. Hopefully not the part where I'm going to get tangled in a leash and fall on my ass.
Third Time's The Charm?

Blog Backlog
Ok, so if you didn't know already, when I say I will do something soon, I am probably lying. So that Halloween poll isn't happening. Who knows when I'll get around to changing it. And all the other stuff I said would be coming, probably ain't. Sorry. I'm a busy girl. With a short attention span & bad memory.
So far for my costume I have a black "deluxe dominatrix wig," black platform shoes, a silk black mini skirt, eyeliner, eyelashes, lipstick, long dark red fingernails, a dog collar & a wine-colored shiny zip-up corset top. Still need fishnets, more make-up, maybe a different top, maybe some glovette things, maybe I'll borrow a whip from my parents (they have horses, not a sex dungeon). Not entirely sure if I'll be a dominatrix or goth girl.
Brian got his costume all at the Dollar Store (yes, it was called Dollar Store, not Dollar City or Dollar Tree or Everything's a Dollar). He says he is going as Aquaman. He spent $6 and will be wearing a cartoony plastic duck mask with tongue sticking out, umbrella hat, one freddy kreuger-style glove, a plastic cape that looks like a party tablecloth, and fuschia tinsel as a boa. The sixth item was an autograph book, in which he will be collecting autographs at the party we're attending. He also wants to draw a glittery fish on his t-shirt. That is what will make him aquaman, apparently. As I've mentioned before, my boyfriend is nuts & retarded. Which is why we pair up so nicely.
I think a lot of the costume links in my previous post don't work anymore because they've sold out. Sorry. But I think both of my readers got a chance to look at them before they went away.

More on the Panty Pyramid
I mailed out a cotton thong that was mostly forest green with pink, white & burgundy stripes, a slightly ruffled waistband & a little pink ribbon bow. The girl said she liked thongs and it was half-price & cute & kinda different from anything I've seen before. I've only given out one of my six letters though. I have another one waiting to be stamped and the others waiting to be addressed. So it'll be a while before I see any panty packages in my mail.
A round of congratulations is due. My boss, Amy, and my sister's best friend, Angie are expecting babies next year! First child for each. They will make really great moms. And their husbands are terriffic too. These are babies I actually approve of. There's a lot of 'em out there I think are the worst ideas ever. Don't get me started on that rant. Continuing with congrats ... just got e-mail from my childhood best friend, Jessica. She is getting married! I'm glad she's found the love & happiness she deserves, because she is a wonderful, compassionate, special woman with a lot to offer. Several of my co-workers are also engaged, but that's not news. I work with about a dozen 20-something women. Hopefully I will soon be extending career congrats to my sister. She's in the process of interviewing for something that sounds really great for her.
All you non-wealthy liquor drinkers, you have to try this ... Filter your lower-than-top-shelf liquor through a Brita walter filter pitcher 5-10 times. It ends up so smooth. It's amazing! We got the idea from Tech TV! Just be careful not to enjoy too much of it, which is easier to do when it goes down so easily. (I have the time to myself to sit here and blog right now as Brian is "asleep" after enjoying filtered vodka.) Hmmm.... I just visited the web site for the original product -- the Gray Kangaroo personal liquor filter -- and I'm not sure how I feel about endorsing an idea that was "seen in Modern Drunkard magazine." Amused, I guess.
I'm gonna try to sleep now. This time change is screwing me up. (as if that problem is unique to myself)

I'm Back
Yay! I have a working camera phone again! Having my fun toy back to play with has kept me too busy to blog. That and working 6 days a week, including 2 10.5-hour shifts.

But now I'm sitting at my parents' house waiting for my home-cooked meal (YAY!!!) and I have some time to post.

Winston didn't end up coming to Happy Tails to board this week. :( But he will be participating in our doggie fashion show Nov. 3! :)

Mr. Pickles Returns
Mr. Pickles (Winston the pug) is coming back to board for a week starting next Friday! I miss that gross little nut-job. Hopefully I can take him home again. I'll dress him up for an early Halloween photo shoot. Oh what a weekend we'll have!

I Hate You All Except Sooya
I'm assuming Sooya was the one who actually reported making less than me on the poll. I hate all the rest of you. But at least I get paid to play with dogs all day. Nya-nya.

Panty Exchange!
I got home an hour ago to my official residence, where I spend 2 or 3 nights a week -- just enough to shut up the nosy hag across the street from Brian. And what did I have waiting for me? A Panty Exchange letter! I am instructed to send a new pair of panties in the size specified to the girl listed and send copies of the letter to 6 people, listing the girl who sent the letter to me as the girl to whom they are to send panties. Then their friends will send me panties. I should receive 36 pairs of fancy panties within 3 weeks.
I will post a description of each pair I receive, in addition to one of the pair I buy and send out to this Megan chick. I'm going to check in with Lex and see how she fares too. She's the one who sent the letter to me.
I think I will also change my poll to this topic.
The letter states I can specify any types of panties I prefer as a suggestion to those who send them to me. Any thoughts on what I should request? ;)

Yay! A photo I took of Winston (Mr. Pickles) using my camera phone (before it broke) is featured on the Happy Tails (my workplace) home page! The picture looks like it's kinda stretched a little funny, though. And my boss cropped it. But good quality for a phone that takes pictures, right? Isn't he just so freakin' cute?
He had his 2nd birthday while I was hosting him in my home, so I dressed him up in a special birthday bandana and attached a button proclaiming "Today is my birthday." We went down to my sister's best friend's house in St. Mary's County and went out on her pier, which has since been removed by Hurricane Isabel.
