I am staying w/ 2 chocolate labs who thankfully have internet! Ours went out in the snowstorm Saturday. Hopefully they are fixing it today, but probably charging us to do so again. Bastards.
I have been working very hard lately as we have been short-staffed and/or training a bunch of new people. A bunch of new people makes it sound like we have a bunch of employees. But we don't. We're on our 4th warehouse guy in a month. But our new sales associate is kicking butt. She rocks. Yay!
Saturday Lex came in to work in the evening so the other 2 girls could leave early since the snow was starting to pile up. After we closed, we stocked the store since we didn't know if we'd be able to get to the warehouse the next day through the snow. She took me to her house since it's a hell of a lot closer to the store than mine. After a yummy dinner and some chillin on the couch w/ Lex's family and our girlfriend C.B., it was bedtime. Woke up to my alarm to discover a very cold house and no electricity. (Damn why didn't I shower last night?!) Tons of snow (a foot?). Not plowed yet. Had tea from a kettle on the wood stove and cereal w/ banana. Shoveled the driveway. It was perfect shoveling snow - dry and fluffy. Made it the 2 blocks out the neighborhood to the plowed streets and went to work. We opened the store about an hour and a half late. The new girl came in and Lex left. It was a slow day so we cleaned. I hurt my neck a little bit when a customer needed a big bag of food from the warehouse. We had one left up high under about 5 44-pound bags. Getting 6 heavy bags down a wobbly ladder is fun.
The power was out at my house too, but at least we have gas water heater, so I showered by candlelight when I got home. Then Brian & I went out to eat. But he suddenly came down w/ a stomach illness and we raced home. Power came on just before midnight. Yay! I had just finished changing my 5 fish bowls with warmer water so they wouldn't die from the cold. It was 55 degrees in the house.
I am off today and tomorrow. These labs are crazy. So strong and strong-willed. They busted over the barrier of baby gate and pillows to wake me up this morning before 7 a.m. I was not enthused. So I'm tired. They've played in the yard, had breakfast and we took a long walk while the cleaning people were here. I've caught up on internet surfing and had a protein bar.
And I've put in some Nintendogs time. I want to enter as many competitions as I can today to get my trainer points and $$$ up. Right now I have 4 dogs, at 3 competitions a day is 12! And they need training and playtime first. Not to mention as many walks as possible to find treasures! And if I get enough points for another dog today, that's even more walks and competitions. And I got Animal Crossing for Valentine's Day so I need to get my town started. Damn I just realized my DS charger isn't here.
I'm going to be seeing my buddy Kobi today. He needs a walk while Lex is at work. She's staying with him since I had the labs already. Otherwise I'd love to be hangin at his place. Maybe I'll get a nap in over there today.
And I have GOT to buy new shoes today. My work shoes are leaving pieces behind everywhere I go. They have completely fallen apart. Didn't help that the parrot chewed on them.
Gotta deposit checks in the bank. And hit up the post office for 2-cent stamps.
I should really go to the grocery store and the gym too. I have been majorly slacking on that stuff and put back on a couple of pounds. D'oh.
There's a small chance I'll be making a vet visit tomorrow. Indy is still having some stomach problems. (P.U.)
Perhaps I should have friends over for dinner tomorrow. But not too late since I gotta get up really freakin' early Saturday.
That's about all that's on my mind at the moment. Maybe I'll post some pix to my moblog today/tomorrow. Peace out.
